Candlelight and Wedding

The romance of candlelight and wedding go hand in hand, especially if you use candles to decorate the tables for the reception. Candlelight adds a touch of magic to your special day and it will turn your wedding into a real celebration! Popular floral colors include classic white and cream with lilies, whereas deep pastel colored candles and deep bright garden flowers are ideal for a spring or summer wedding.

Floating Candle Centerpiece

Candles floating in a bowl of water are especially attractive. As the water moves gently, the flames flicker and alter focus to create the most romantic atmosphere on your special day. Add white silk roses, silk baby’s breath with long stems of wide flowers to complete your candle centerpiece. The result is quite stunning and it only costs you a fraction of the cost compared to a fresh floral arrangement as a centerpiece.

3) Cut the springier into 2” – 3” lengths and wire three or four sprigs to a floral pick. Cut each pick to 2” long, and insert them among the flowers and ivy. Cut the remaining ivy sprig into 1 ½” long sprigs and glue to fill empty spaces. Cut the rose leaves from the stems and glue evenly among the ivy.

4) Glue the pearl sprays, evenly spaced, among the materials, extending out. Fill the bowl halfway with water and set it inside the wreath. Float the candle and light it when the reception begins.

Shot Glass Wedding Favors

Shot glasses can be purchased at your local craft store or from any discount store in your neighborhood. Shot glasses are available in a wide variety of shapes and sizes. What works best is the traditional clear 1 ½ ounce size glass and it holds enough candle wax for at least 4 to 5 hours of burn time.

Fill your shot glasses with your favorite scent or choose the fragrance that is suitable to the occasion. Choose a color that corresponds with the candle fragrance. For example, a peach color candle with a scent of roses, peaches or water lily would be perfect match and are excellent color for summer. Next, print a message on the card stock “Thank you for sharing this special day!” and trim the edges with decorative scissors. Punch a hole Ό” from the left edge and thread onto the ribbon.

1) Lay the tulle squares one over the other, place the shot glass in the center and gather the tulle around the glass. Wrap the ribbon around the tulle and tie a shoestring bow with 1 ½ loops and 1 ½ tails; slide the card to hang just to the right of the bow. Trim the tulle 2” above the ribbon.

2)Glue the rose to the center of the bow. Glue the baby’s breath sprigs around the rose. Glue the heart charm below and left of the rose.
